NHK Kōhaku Uta-Gassen (NHK紅白歌合戦, "NHK Red and White Song Battle"), more commonly known simply as Kōhaku, is an annual New Year's Eve television special held on December 31 every year, and produced by Japanese public broadcaster NHK. It is broadcast live simultaneously on NHK General TV, BS4K, BS8K, and NHK radio (nationally) and internationally on NHK World Premium and some overseas (mainly cable) broadcasters who buy the program. The program divides the most popular music artists of the year into competing teams of red and white. The "red" team or "akagumi" (紅組) is composed of all female artists (or groups with female vocals), while the "white" team or "shirogumi" (白組) is all male (or groups with male vocals).

The show features several regular host members going around the world looking at and doing humorous and amazing things, each host having their own little twist and style.

Dako is a con woman. She stays at a suite in a luxury hotel and schemes to take money from vicious wealthy people like yakuza bosses and evil businessmen. She works with Boku-chan and Richard. Boku-chan is a sincere and timid young con man. Richard is a veteran con man. Dako is able to master knowledge from various professions in a short period of time and disguises herself as someone working in that field. Along with Boku-chan and Richard, they carry their plans using fantastic teamwork.

Three young people, Irie, Sugiya and Asami, decide to share a room together one summer. All three of them experience sadness, love and friendship as they fall in and out of love. They all become a vital part of each other's life, but at the end of summer vacation, they go their separate ways. Sugiya returns home, Asami leaves Tokyo and returns to the country and Irie remains in the room they had shared, as if nothing had happened over the last 40 days during summer.

Something that we struggle with daily, that eats us up and causes stress and anger: annoying people. You know those people. Unreasonable complainers, obnoxious drunk people, rude cab drivers, snobby salesperson, loud teenagers with no manners, and so on. Hosted by Teruyoshi Uchimura of the comedy duo Ucchan Nanchan, this show features short dramatic reenactments of real-life situation where someone beats those “bad guys” through cleverness and wit. In every episode, the well-reputed supporting actors are cast as characters. There’s no doubt that the show provides a great stress relief and leaves audience feel completely entertained and exhilarated!
