1813. The Swedish army is fighting in the War of the Sixth Coalition. The popular general Von Döbeln is arrested for sending the army against the French in breach of orders by the crown prince. At the court martial he is sentenced to death but is pardoned by the king and sent to prison instead. A group of conspirators are planning to set him free and make him their leader in a coup d'etat.

Old lady Malin Klintbom is being promised a cosy and comfortably life at the residential home she is invited to visit. However, she finds the home impossible to live at and flies in panic to her cabin.

The material is in a disarray but the Society for Ancient Film Research compiles the material after what is believed to have been the master's artistic intentions

The most beautiful of the sisters, Madelaine, writes to their favorite cousin Curt Junker, and asks him to come and reveal Jonas's hypocrisy, which their aunt in her credulity seems to be blind to.

When the old colonel Hummerborg dies, he leaves his fortune and estate to his trusted housemaid Hanna. But the colonel's relatives try everything to have the last will canceled.
