Two co-workers in a music shop dislike one another during business hours but unwittingly carry on an anonymous romance through the mail.

But the clever Harlan outwits everyone and elopes with Anne before revealing his true identity.

Her innocent goodness and faith transform Dick from a carousing society ne'er-do-well to a man of noble ambitions. Thus rehabilitated, Dick wins Periwinkle's hand in marriage.

Phillip finds her and promises to start a new life in their own home on his own resources.
