1813. The Swedish army is fighting in the War of the Sixth Coalition. The popular general Von Döbeln is arrested for sending the army against the French in breach of orders by the crown prince. At the court martial he is sentenced to death but is pardoned by the king and sent to prison instead. A group of conspirators are planning to set him free and make him their leader in a coup d'etat.

Orphan Didi is raised by her aunts and in love with her ward, the surgeon Dr. Gunnar Green. He is more interested in the stars of the theatre so Didi decides to fight for him.

Mr. and Mrs. Gyurkovics have a dozen children the oldest of which, the twins Géza and Bandi, just preparing for their matriculation examination. When graduation day has come Géza refuses to set up but taken by force by the principal's henchmen. When dad Gyurkovics later dies, takes over Bandi goods while Géza becoming an officer cadet in the nearby garrison city.

To raise money the family begins to work on and operate the hotel.

Wholesaler Pettersson ends up in the military after being mixed up with a soldier on the run, who has stolen his identity.

The kids on the south side of Stockholm get together to help their friend Kalle out when he's broken a window, by starting a fund-raiser. But some older kids are after the money.

Helga Breder is a young, spoiled girl. To her beloved Jörgen she says that she, as a modern young woman, is multi-talented and can do whatever she likes. Jörgen bets that she can't work as a house-maid but, if she manages it, he will buy her a diamond ring. Helga becomes a house-maid at Vinger Mansion and falls in love with an inventor, Bertil Frigård, who lives there.

About the Swedish trickster and thief Lars "Lasse-Maja" Molin. He often disguised himself and lived as a woman in 1800s. He takes place as a kitchen boy for a bailiff and manages to prevent him from taking over the cottage where his beloved lives. His true identity will, however, be disclosed and he is forced to become an outlaw.

A local newspaper editor in northern Sweden starts to spread a rumor that sextuplets has been born. In reality it turns out that it's only two sets of twins.

Baron Leijoncloo comes back to Sweden after many years in Argentina. On his way to his good friend Victor Sällberg's home, he loses his luggage. A con artist, Jönsson, finds it, and uses the baron's title to get invited to the manor of Mr. and Mrs. Blomqvist. By a coincidence, the baron also comes to the manor using a fake name. Young Jörgen Steenfeld is the heir of it over the chimney-indebted estate Steensgaard and unable to clear up its finances. He is being looked after by his old friend, "Mästerkatten", ie the enterprising, charming but somewhat irreplaceable Karl Konstantin Kattrup, who has been relegated from the university. Kattrup, involved as a manager at Steensgaard. Steenfeld receives visits by county governor Markdanner and her daughter Rose. The Countess is planning a marriage between Rose and Jörgen, but Jörgen is secretly in love with the orphan Helga Anthon, called Pips. The conditions are further complicated by the appearance of Kattrup and Rose.

The boys will get a new class teacher who has discipline, they get in a lot of mischief, so much complaints that they have to read extra during the summer holidays to get started in class 4.

A happy-go-lucky husband has a wife bitten with social aspirations and this leads to several social mishaps.
