The Forbidden Talks

Three years after the events of the first film, the four brothers are trying in various ways to preserve the covenant they made to themselves to stay away from a life of theft and crime, but one event in their lives changes all that, and introduces them to new worlds for them, and puts them in very dangerous confrontations with A number of professional criminals.

Eleven directors from eleven countries each contribute an eleven-minute short reflecting on the events of 11 September 2001: A village teacher in Iran tries to explain to her young students what's happened; city kids in Burkina Faso think they've spotted Osama bin Laden; a deaf Frenchwoman in Manhattan writes a Dear John letter to a man who left that morning for work at the World Trade Center; a Chilean remembers Allende; events recall other deaths; a mother endures more than her son's death. Tones vary, as do the locales. Most concern coming to terms with the events of the day, but at least one confronts the viewer with tragedy and death.

A family whose breadwinner dies, leaving his wife and university-student daughter in the care of his son from his first wife. He treats them harshly and wastes their money - especially his sister's money, as he is her guardian - on his own pleasures. The mother and daughter are led by a kind family that takes her by the hand and curbs the son's ambitions.

Ahmed meets Malak, and their relationship quickly evolves from mere admiration to mutual love. Each seeks to impress the other with their personality and actions, hoping their love story lasts forever and withstands all challenges.

In the 12th century's Andalusia lives Ibn Rushd a prominent Islamic philosopher with his wife Zeinab and daughter Salma. The principality is ruled by Khalifa ElMansour who has two sons, ElNasser, an intellectual that likes Ibn Rush and is in love with his daughter Salma. The younger son Abdallah is more into dancing and poetry, spending most of his times with the gypsy family and getting the daughter pregnant. The Khalifa is depending on the extremists to build his army granting them more power which they use to combat artists and philosophers. The extremists succeed in recruiting Abd Allah and train him to kill his father. Events go on where Marawan, the gypsy singer, is killed and Ibn Rushd's books are burnt. Adapted from the real life of Ibn Rushd AlMasir is Chahine's statement against extremism.

The lives of residents in an old Cairo building, "The Yacoubian Building," are affected by issues like corruption, extremism, class disparity, and sexuality. Through diverse characters, the film offers a critical examination of Egyptian society.

Ali Abd-El-Zaher is a member of an Islamic radical group which has been launching attacks against the government and the society under the orders of the spiritual leader Brother Saif. Ali manages to assasinate an officer, but as he escapes from the authorities he gets hit by a car driven by Sewsan, the daughter of a respected Muslim family living in the Maadi district. Sewsan's father who is a surgeon and his family take care of the injured terrorist who then tries to conceal the truth about his personality, such as his dislike of music, unveiled women and Western life styles.

A young teacher, Mohamed, rejects a student who happens to be the daughter of Awny, the Minister of Interior. As Mohamed starts working as a journalist and joins the Wafd Party, he learns that Awny has documents that condemn its leader. Mohamed tries to get the incrimating evidence.

After we last see him in "Alexandria, Why?" Egyptian filmmaker Yehia Mourad is in his thirties, and successful in his work, he has grown distant from his wife and children and suffers a symbolic blockage of the heart while shooting the final scenes of his latest film. After being flown to England for evaluation, it's determined that Yehia must undergo emergency surgery. Fact and fiction blend seamlessly—with healthy doses of cleverly absurdist fantasy—as the film explores the various personalities and forces that have made Yehia (and Youssef Chahine) the man he has become.

The events revolve around Akram, who receives an invitation to attend a masquerade party. He decides to wear police uniforms, which causes him to suffer a crisis as a police officer, while looking for a particular file.

As Hanan files a lawsuit against her impotent husband for refusing to divorce her, she drops the case after he dies in an accident, after which she works in a care home for people with special needs.

An adaptation of “Crime and Punishment", a young educated man's descent into madness and paranoia after committing a crime, and finding comfort in the company of kind-hearted but abused poor prostitute in the middle of his turmoil.

Sheikh Hosny is a blind man who lives with his old mother and his frustrated son in the Kit Kat neighborhood. His son Youssef dreams of going to Europe to find work, and has a relationship with a divorced woman named Fatima. Sheikh Hosny refuses to admit his handicap and dreams of riding a motorcycle like every sighted person, he also spends his nights smoking hash with the locals in order to forget his miseries after the loss of his wife and selling his father's house.

The film revolves around a poor and ambitious young man who shares a love story with the daughter of a businessman with influence and money.

The events take place inside an orphanage, around a young girl named Sukar, who lives with a large group of children. The orphanage is run by an obnoxious woman and her henchman, who have bad intentions

Media personality Dina El Kordi runs a women’s empowerment center and launches a large social media campaign aimed at supporting women and addressing stubbornness or lack of understanding in married life. The campaign sparks widespread controversy in society between supporters and opponents.

A father loses his carpentry workshop after his son-in-law stops paying taxes regularly. His son Hassan, a bus driver, struggles hard to save his father’s workshop, while the daughters try to replace it with a new project inspired by the “Infitah” era.

A poor man starts working in a casino and gets bedazzled by the rich people he sees. As he takes his family to show them the casino after hours, they get arrested for breaking into the casino.

The four madmen escape, forcing the nurse Mabrouk and the driver Abdel Mawla to arrest four people instead of them to hand them over to the hospital administration.
