After World War I, Armistice Lloyd Hart goes back to practice law, former saloon keeper George Hally turns to bootlegging, and out-of-work Eddie Bartlett becomes a cab driver. Eddie builds a fleet of cabs through delivery of bootleg liquor and hires Lloyd as his lawyer. George becomes Eddie's partner and the rackets flourish until love and rivalry interfere.

A couple struggle to find happiness after a whirlwind courtship.

Natalie Bourget, an American living in Paris, is married against her will to Jean Bourget, the brutal leader of the Paris "Apache" underworld. At a cabaret, Jean compels Natalie to perform an Apache dance, during which Harrison Forbes and his American mistress, Helen Armstrong, notice Natalie's strong resemblance to Helen.

A criminal known as Thunderbolt is imprisoned and facing execution. Into the next cell is placed Bob Moran, an innocent man who has been framed and who is in love with Thunderbolt's girl, without knowing of their relationship. Thunderbolt hopes to stave off the execution long enough to kill young Moran for romancing his girl.

A gangster is unable to go straight after returning home from prison.

Denise, an orphaned girl, moves to Paris where she hopes to find work at her uncle's store. But the glamorous department store 'Aux Bonheur des Dames' across the street crushes all the little businesses around. She finds a position there.

Wealthy Wall Street broker Thomas Maughm finally decides to divorce his spendthrift and reckless wife, and dictates a letter to that affect to his stenographer, Mary Moreland. While dictating the letter, he realizes that he is actually in love with Mary; when he tells her this, she confesses that she loves him, also, The pair make plans to meet in Boston later that night, but before Mary leaves, Maughm's wife confronts her and tells Mary that she still loves her husband. Ashamed, Mary convinces Maughm to go back to his wife. Complications ensue.

During a stay in Seville, Empress Eugénie was charmed by the song of Violetta, a flower girl of gypsy origin. She invites her to Paris where she becomes a prima donna.

Two men who bear a striking resemblance to each befriend each other while stationed in France during WWI. One is fatally fatally wounded and requests makes a dying request to his doppelganger to take on his identity.

Luc Froment, a reform-minded engineer, starts working at a steel mill in a small town. There he founds small groups of workers (and their families) under miserable conditions. Under the influence of Fourier's ideas, Froment tries to turn the mill into a workers' co-operative.

A crime has been committed. Two police officers with very different personalities are in charge of the investigation. This one turns out to be complicated, the culprit being almost unsuspected.

King Louis XI tries to unify France by all means fair or foul, which does not please his powerful rival Charles the Bold. It is against this troubled backdrop that the loves of the daughter of a wealthy bourgeois and the king's god-daughter Jeanne Fouquet and knight Robert Cottereau unfurl in spite of all the obstacles in their way. One of these being a pack of hungry wolves trying to stop Jeanne from carrying out an important mission assigned to her by the king himself.

In 1917, in a small village in the North, Abbe Gaillard is suspected by the Germans of facilitating the escape of French and Belgian soldiers. A false alibi makes him innocent and he can thus continue his mission, thanks to the devotion of an Alsatian who, in enemy uniform, obscurely serves his country.

This relatively straightforward dramatic biography was one of two films commissioned to honor Joan of Arc on the 500th anniversary of her death, but it was soon undeservedly relegated to obscurity in favor of Carl Dreyer's triumphant 'La Passion de Jeanne d'Arc'. The comparison is unfair: Dreyer was an artist, but director Marco de Gastyne certainly proved himself a distinguished craftsman, and his emphasis on the Maid of Orléans early life in Domrémy serves as a picturesque, matching bookend to Dreyer's impassioned courtroom drama.

En route to the U.S., Joe Hoggart persuades several other immigrants to pool their money and purchase a tract of land, which proves to be rich in oil years later. With the assistance of his associate, Bill Shopps, Joe seeks to control the other investors' certificates. He travels to Spain, where he discovers that a partner named Garros has died. Joe kidnaps Garros' daughter, Rolande, and claims that she has also died. After Didier Bouchard, another member of the group, gathers the partners and their heirs together, Joe lures them into a building where, ostensibly, a sale of the land is to take place. Joe imprisons them, but they escape in time to attend the sale. An investor named Milo d'Espail learns that Rolande is still alive and rescues her from Joe. Bouchard marries Thérèse, another of Garros's daughters.

The story of a female German spy who willingly sacrifices her life for her country.

Grey, an elite detective, has the mission to investigate the assassination, in Paris, of a great Hollywood star. There is no real motive, and yet the suspects are numerous. The investigation promises to be long and difficult.

When Mary Graham's old school chum visits, Mary's husband becomes infatuated with his wife's guest and soon openly avows his love for her.

Kate Claybourne is too busy with her literary career to notice that her husband, Bartley, is providing the finery for her flapper sister, Peggy Kendricks. When she does find out, she seeks a divorce, with the understanding that Bartley will marry Peggy. But Peggy, who toys with many men's hearts, marries Ralph Demarest, thereby cutting off Ralph from his disapproving father's fortune. Peggy accepts money from Horace Demarest to leave Ralph but then flings it in Ralph's face and urges him to make a man of himself. Peggy stands by Ralph, wins Horace's affection, and reunites the Claybournes.

Captain Jean and his daughter, Hélène, live in a Sicilian fishing hamlet. Captain André persuades him to induce the villagers to invest all their savings in a project to buy new ships to meet the growing business with the mainland. Instead of investing it, André steals the money and retreats to Etna. Sandro, Hélène's sweetheart, pursues the culprit and returns the money to Captain Jean after André is killed in a battle between the two--fought while Etna erupts.

Although Billie Farrington's aunt, Mrs. Farrington, wishes her to marry Farrington ranch foreman Bob Hanford, Billie refuses to be interested in anyone but Count Venino, a fake nobleman. Mrs. Farrington becomes seriously ill, and Billie weds Bob to please her aunt but treats him with chilly reserve. When Mrs. Farrington learns of Venino's masquerade and his half-caste birth, she gives a reception to which she invites Venino's Burmese mother. Billie runs away, is kidnapped by Venino, and then is rescued by Bob, whose rugged honesty Billie finally appreciates.

Mabel Bannister, the daughter of Richard Bannister, visits the wealthy Cardews at Ripley Manor and falls in love with young Jack Cardew, the son of the Bishop of Ripley, Lord John Cardew. Jack asks Mabel to marry him and Jack's stepmother Lady Hester approves, but the bishop doesn't because he knows nothing about Mabel's family. The family invites Mabel and her parents to dinner at the manor to get acquainted--but it turns out that few people in both families are quite what they appear to be, and each side has secrets that they don't want the other to find out.

An adaptation not of Zola’s novel but of the play William Busnach and Octave Gastineau derived from it.

After intrepid working girl Mary Carter becomes the new owner of a reputedly haunted mansion located off the Cuban coast, a stranger phones warning her to stay away from the castle. Undaunted, Mary sets sail for Cuba with a stowaway in her trunk—wise-cracking Larry Lawrence, a radio announcer who helps Mary get to the bottom of the voodoo magic, zombies and ghosts that supposedly curse the spooky estate.

A young girl marries a financier knowing he has only a short time to live, so she can inherit his money.Her lover, who has made a fortune away in America, returns and wants to hasten the financier's death.

Between the feelings of the man who believes himself to be deceived and of the surgeon's instinct, it is the latter which triumphs in Doctor Bernon, who saves the man presumed to be his wife's lover. He then realizes that this is not the case and that she is still worthy of him.

Story concerns a paper mill, a mortgage and the struggle to obtain the lost formula for making paper from seaweed. Star is given opportunity to introduce many daredevil features.

Dave Deering, a prospector, teams up with a dog named "Teeth" to bring the dog's former owner to justice.

Yasmina, a rich Tunisian Princess, daughter of a French lady and a Muslim gentleman, is betrothed by a father to a rich fifty year old man named Afsen. She reluctantly accept the marriage but soon becomes ill from boredom and she falls in love with the French doctor called from Tunis to take care of her, Hector Grandier, who also happens to be a childhood friend. Her husband finds out and Yasmina sticks a knife in her own bosom in a middle of a fight. The Princess's maid, Athima, accuses the old husband of attempting to kill the girl and he is sentenced to death. Hector rescues him from his fate and the two lovers are free to love each other in the eyes of the law.

The turkey keeper, Bettina, brings good luck to those who make her work. She becomes the mascot of the good King Laurent XVII whose finances are in bad shape. In order for her to retain her beneficial power, an attempt is made to separate her from her lover, but in vain.
