The story of Batyr, a simple young man from Kyrgyzstan, who arrives in New York City with big dreams. In the modern metropolis, he faces numerous challenges, hardships, and deception. However, without losing his national pride, perseverance, and humanity, Batyr strives to conquer the big city. This film is about friendship, love for the homeland, big dreams, and the reality of life in America.

A band of young musicians is looking for fees across the steppe in an ramshackle old bus. During their tour, starving, they kill a cow but they don't know what to do with it. They will also bring happiness in an old people's home in return for food.

This is a love story set in the steppes of Central Asia of today. Temür a thirty year old Kazakh decides to start life again in his ancestral village in the Kyrghyz Mountains. He discovers soon after his arrival that he is a misfit in this settlement of old conservative Islamic men,some women and children. The only ray of hope for him is Amira a young married woman who waits in frustration for her absentee husband - a Mujahideen. Temur watches sorrowfully as the individual village stories unfold at the same as he tries to help the community out in any way he can. In this way he comes closer to Amira and Taib, her young brother-in-law. In a dead end situation the lovers decide to leave the settlement and travel to a place that would hold out with their dreams. During the second world war two friends work at a remote railway station in the steppes. When one dies the other's request to bury him according to Islamic rituals in a sacred place is denied by the Soviet authorities, who use that place for rocket testing.

The Great Silk Road is the name for a mountain trade route now identifiable only by train tracks; it is on these tracks that our film finds four children at play, not far from their Kirghizstan village. Longing to discover his father, a sad young boy dreams of becoming a fish and swimming to the great white ship he sees traversing Lake Issyk. Lost in his dreams, and buoyed by the pagan tales of his Central Asian grandfather, he feels a close communion with nature: so much so that when a hunter kills a stag, he too takes a final, liberating leap.

A tiny Kyrgyz aul in the mountains is slated for demolition, and its people must move to a collective farm. Young shepherd Kanat sets out for the city to study, but after being deceived, he chooses to stay, realizing he must first learn the art of living among people. The village elders, guided by timeless moral values, shape the destinies of the characters, rooted in a deep sense of belonging and communal spirit.

It's so different — the world of our childhood. For Arman, the little hero of the film, these are endless meadows and snow—white flocks of sheep grazing on the steep slopes of green hills, the calm warmth of a yurt, an ancient stone baba, to which a real hunting golden eagle arrives every day, a smart dog Aktaban, boundless expanse and clear sky overhead. A Kazakh villager has to take care of his pregnant sister-in-law after his brother is thrown in jail.

Three brothers were waiting for their father Olmes to return from the war, imagining him as a hero, like the former circus performer Anuar, who had actually fallen from grace and started stealing. When Olmes returned, the children were disappointed by his appearance, but during the kokpar game, he defeated Anuar, who was trying to cheat.

To speed up Japan's entry into the war against the USSR, Hitler sent his emissary to Tokyo. The route of his plane lay through the territory of Kazakhstan, where refueling was to take place. This operation was codenamed "Panther".

Teenager Mukai spends most of the year in a remote Kyrgyz village with his grandmother while his parents work in a secluded mountain area. At thirteen, he is considered an adult by local standards. With all sorts of promises and temptations, local businessmen gradually connected Deles to their machinations — and the young shepherd very soon built a huge house, bought a car, found prosperity and lost his family.

The boy Nurdin spent his summer holidays in the mountains with his grandfather, a herdsman. He learned to ride a horse, took part in horse races, showed courage by going with local children to a cave to get mumiyo to cure a sick comrade.

69-year-old Taalai has kept the image of his first love in his heart all his life, rejecting new feelings. But fate gives him a chance: a friend convinces him to open his heart again, and the mysterious Mahabat brings light into his life.
