The Champions: Faster. Higher. Stronger

The story of the Podolsk cadets’ heroic stand outside Moscow in October 1941. Cadets were sent to the Ilyinsky line, fighting alongside units from the Soviet 43rd Army to hold back the German advance until reinforcements arrived. Hopelessly outnumbered, young men laid down their lives in a battle lasting almost two weeks to obstruct the far superior German forces advancing towards Moscow. Around 3,500 cadets and their commanding officers were sent to hold up the last line of defense outside Moscow. Most of them remained there for eternity.

The picture of youth, love and betrayal, the eternal problem of fathers and children. The main actors are teenagers living in a small provincial town. Their parents — decent people who are used to making money in an honest way - do not have the opportunity to help their children. The difficulties that teenagers face at home, once pushing them to steal. What is the moral law in our lives, what is today the place of eternal values — such as love, family, loyalty? What does money mean in the modern world? Where and when does a person cross the line beyond which there is no way back?..

Five unusual short stories. Two heroes are fighting for the heart of a mysterious beauty in the tragicomedy Olesya. In the parable "Milk" in the high-rise kitchen a real cow appears. The heroine of the comedy without the “Not Fit” dialogues is torn between the desire to lose weight by the alumni meeting and the modern food cult. The eccentric Rita Hurricane rushes into the life of the security guard of the Leo shopping center and changes it forever. And the hero of the story "Carpe diem" solves an important question - to lie or not to lie, when everyone around is lying.

A young boy falls in love with his school teacher and desperately tries to attract her attention. Very soon the teacher shows an interest in this boy and realizes, that he stands out in a crowd. She feels something…but it’s not to the boy’s classmates liking. This can’t continue. This story describes the possibility of high and chaste feelings between people of different ages and shows, how these feelings can transform a person, making it better.

It is late spring of 1942, and the Great Patriotic War is in full swing. A long way off from the front-line, at some God-forgotten junction, the Germans make an air landing operation in an attempt to get through to the Kirov railway and the White Sea - the Baltic Sea Canal. These aren't just ordinary paratroopers. This is a team of seasoned and highly trained infiltrators, the elite of the Waffen-SS, superhumans. The only thing in their way is an anti-aircraft artillery unit of corporal Vaskov and five young women in training. It may seem like a fight of local significance, but the countrys main strategic transportation artery is at stake. Can the corporal and his 'petite newbies' prevent Nazi sabotage and at what cost? Each of the five different short stories leads to the fact that for the decision: to maintain relationships or destroy them? This choice has to be made by the viewer himself.

A love story of Masha - a scientist, teacher and a mother of a high school student.

Autumn 1929. Lina, from the noble Golitsyn family, arrives on a date with her husband Georgy Osorgin, who is serving a prison sentence in the Solovetsky special purpose camp. Lina does not know that after she leaves the island, her husband will be shot. Osorgin received a terrible sentence after he, a deeply religious man, secretly brought holy gifts to the dying Archimandrite so that he could take communion before his death. The camp authorities took the Russian officer's word of honor from Osorgin not to tell his wife anything about his predetermined fate. Only on this condition did they agree to temporarily release him from the punishment cell for his last meeting with Lina. The spouses spend the precious three days allotted to them and feel happy in the most inappropriate circumstances. Osorgin says goodbye to Lina on the pier. When the ship becomes a dot on the horizon, the guards escort George back to the punishment cell, where he carefully dresses for his final journey.

The Moscow idler Nikita (27) spends his days at home, watching the news and cursing the country; he is certain that the country is to blame for his unemployment. He lets a room in his Moscow apartment to the girl Sara, who has come from Tel Aviv to earn money. One day Sara tells him that she is going back to Israel.

Every Saturday fireman Anton Kalashnikov welcomes his 14-year-old daughter Kira from the dance. TV, dumplings for dinner - a standard set of entertainment from a Saturday dad for a teenage girl. But on this day, everything went wrong. Kira rings the intercom, Kalashnikov opens the front door, but the girl does not go up to the apartment. Anton has to ask for help from his neighbors in a concrete box, breaking through human indifference and past grievances.

The film is about a day in the life of Elizaveta Petrovna Glinka, also known as Doctor Liza. Moscow, 2012. The Glinka family prepares for a celebration: thirty years together. The closest friends are invited for dinner, the sons have arrived. Of course, Liza has freed up this day for her family. There’s just a trifle: to stop by the Fund and see the weekly patients at the Paveletsky Station. But the days of Doctor Liza are always full of surprises… In a hospital in a Moscow suburb a five-year-old girl is dying. The duty doctor has to discharge Eva. Due to medical formalities the child, who suffers from cancer, is left without painkillers. In utter despair, the girl’s father turns to Liza for help. When Liza cannot find a way to help the child within the system, she decides on a desperate act…

He's an unemployed guy who earns some money by giving lifts to strangers. She's a graphic designer who just got her first job. The film tracks their relationship - and the way it gradually melts away - throughout a year. A subtle, moving portrait of an immature love that breaks down easily.

Gradually, the family gets used to the cow and even starts endearingly call it Buryonka. Everything goes well, until the somewhat senile grandfather mistakes Buryonka for an enemy.
