When the old prospector Clyde Selby hits the mother lode, The Hawk plans to kidnap his pretty blond daughter Mary Selby. This kidnapping actually proves one of the lesser of the perils faced by the poor Mary. Laramie, a government agent, wants with the help of his friendly Shoshone Indian friends to extricate the damsel-in-distress.

Senator Hornell, and Hornell's son, who under the name of Jack Rollins is endeavoring to make good as a big league player. Matters are complicated by Count Segundo, a foreign agent, who has been instructed to "get something" on Sutton.

When she recovers, he learns that she has become a famous actress under an assumed name. Perceiving that he loves her, she promises never to leave him.
