Sinless

2026 Movie Drama Horror Thriller Mystery

Henrik arrives at the Szentiványi family's castle for a celebratory dinner. Wine fills the glasses and Hungary's powerful construction dynasty welcomes him into its carefully ordered world. But Henrik is no ordinary guest. Only Anita, his girlfriend and the family's youngest daughter, suspects why he’s there. For generations, the Szentiványi's have moved through the highest political and economic circles, leaving crimes and unspoken debts in their wake. As the evening unfolds, casual remarks sharpen, silences deepen, and every polished courtesy seems to carry another meaning.

Instead of ten commandments, ten intertwined Tinder dates: virtual relationships, bleak joys, fast-paced moves, spiritual deviance, hypocritical hypocrisy, perverse homophobia, lustful bloody revenge, and in the background a surprising twist that is far from being about joys... This boundary-pushing independent film is not a traditional romantic story, but an experimental, provocative look at the 2020s, where the search for happiness is often just a swipe right away, yet it seems unattainable.

Set in a large apartment in Hungary during the death throes of communism, obedient Andor lives with his eccentric mother, Rebeka, a once-celebrated stage actress-turned-recluse. After years of coexisting in a love-hate relationship marked by routine and possible incest, Andor brings home Eszter, a beautiful girl his own age. Her advances awaken Andor's repressed desires, the depths of which prove shocking. Opera director Robert Alfoldi renders this bizarre story in a melodramatic style, and veteran Hungarian stage star Dorottya Udvaros rises to the occasion. If you can imagine the intersecting area on a Venn diagram that includes Taxidermia and Sunset Blvd., that's where Where Were You, My Son? was born. The original title, Nyugalom, which translates to Tranquility, is ironic to say the least. ...over the-top...memorable...thunderous...sex and violins (Variety).

Zsigmond Móricz wrote his novel Butterfly in just a few days in 1924. Móricz tells the story of a mighty love that triumphs over adversity and is all-powerful in the language of ordinary people. The love of Zsuzsika and Jóska is presented through the "lightning and veil-soft" emotions of the director, László Vitézy's television adaptation. After The Legend of Hortobágy (Komorló) and The Sky Bird, this is the third film made by László Vitézy based on the writings of Zsigmond Móricz.

More than thirty years have passed since then; the girl has become a woman, yet she has been unable to process her experiences. This is why she started a blog, which quickly gained hundreds of thousands of readers. Éva Péterfy-Novák's story is about moving forward after loss and the process of acceptance in an era and environment where admitting mistakes and living with differences were unwelcome.
