The English pop superstar and erstwhile Genesis drummer recorded this concert in Berlin during his Serious Hits tour of 1990. Founded in 1967, the Montreux Jaxx Festival has established itslef as one of the ost prestigious annual music events in the world. Eric Clapton has appeared at the Montreux Festival on a number of occasions both in his own right and as a guest of other performers. In his concert from 1986 he is very much the star as, with the more than capable backing of Phil Collins on drums, Nathan East on bass and Greg Phillinganes on keyboards, he turns in great performances on many of his best know tracks including: "Layla", "White Room", "I Shot the Sheriff", "Sunshine Of Your Love", "Behind The Mask" and more.

The project was initiated as the result of the forced cancellation of Eric’s concerts scheduled for May 2021 at the Royal Albert Hall due to the continued disruption caused by the pandemic. Looking for a viable alternative and hoping to keep his options open, he reconvened with his band to the English countryside and staged a concert in the presence of only the participants themselves while letting the cameras roll. (Eric’s wife, Melia, the sole outside observer inspired the Sessions title.) The mostly acoustic set was envisioned to be like an "Eric Clapton Unplugged II," but not quite, as three songs are played with electric guitars. The result became far more than simply a sequence of greatest hits. Rather, it’s one of the most intimate and authentic performances of his entire career, an offering flush with real insight into the make-up of his indelible catalogue.

A complete recording of his own stage performed on both the acoustic set on September 20 and the electric set on 21st, including “Tears in Heaven”, “Layla” and other famous masterpieces, Fes performers participated as guests in “Purple Rain” and the last “High Time We Went”!

In 1990, Eric Clapton performed 18 nights at one of his favourite venues - the famous Royal Albert Hall in London. During the 18 run of shows, Clapton performed with three different line-ups: a rock band, a blues band, and an orchestra. Eric returned to the same venue in 1991 with the same three line-ups and played a further 24 shows. The huge undertaking of rehearsing for performances of three distinctly different genres was made even more challenging by the line-up for the rock shows varying from 4, 9 or 13 band members.

Phil Collins has made a number of appearances at Montreux over the years as a solo artist, with his big band or as a guest performer with the likes of Eric Clapton and Quincy Jones. In this performance filmed at the 2004 festival, he performs all of his best known hits from his solo career. Bonus footage of a performance by the Phil Collins Big Band at Montreux from 1996 is also included. This is the first time any of Phil's big band material has been made available and features Tony Bennett on a track. This combination of all his classic songs coupled with rare big band material shows the breadth of musical genres Phil has covered in his career and makes a perfect celebration of Phil's association with Montreux.

Filmed during tour rehearsals in London and Dallas plus a Los Angeles hotel room and the Dallas warehouse where Johnson made some of his final recordings, Sessions for Robert J finds Clapton performing all Robert Johnson songs with his touring band, acoustically with Doyle Bramhall II and solo-as well as discussing Johnson and his influence. A performance/documentary DVD with 14 tracks (from which the 11 CD selections are taken), Sessions for Robert J is blues heaven.

2015 was a year of landmark events for Eric Clapton. He turned 70 in March and then in May he performed his 200th concert at London's famous Royal Albert Hall fifty years after his first performance there with The Yardbirds. Clapton's 7 night run at the venue was acclaimed by the critics and adored by the fans. The set list blended vintage blues tracks and Eric Clapton classics from across his astonishing career. Clapton has become synonymous with the Royal Albert Hall and this concert is the perfect combination of artist and venue creating a truly magical night for Eric Clapton fans everywhere.
