One More Time Before I Die

Kids battle bad guys using martial arts.

A young man with ideals, equipped with a high-school diploma, dreams of a quiet and honest life. Nevertheless, being unable to find a job and facing the problems of unemployment, he gets involved in a ring of thieves. The hoodlums organize a major heist. Lefteris agrees to take part in order to solve his money problems and live happily with his girl. Things, however, do not develop smoothly. The hero, at the last moment, manages to escape and avoid arrest by the policemen, thanks to the help of a girl who works in a cabaret in Piraeus and is in love with him.

The 300 Spartans is an account of the 480 B.C. Battle of Thermopylae, in which the Greek Spartan King Leonidas, played by Richard Egan, led a remarkably small number of Greek Sparta to victory over an invading Persian army led by evil King Xerxes that was thought to number over 25,000. This spectacular conflict gave the Grecians enough time to organize a force to ultimately repel the Persians, and thus change the course of Western civilization.

Antoine, a professor of Greek, and Lise, a police inspector, honeymoon in Greece. There they meet a young couple, Charles, an archaeologist, and Agnes, a dishy flirt. Charles unearths the lovely buttocks of a classical statue and is determined to donate it to the Louvre. Agnes wants to sell it and gets a handsome local sailor to take it for an appraisal. When the sailor is murdered, the police suspect Charles and arrest Antoine as his accomplice. Lise swings into action, but before she can clear the men, Agnes springs them from jail, and now Lise must help them elude the police, find the real murderer, and recover the statue fragment. More art goes missing. What is the statue's secret?

"Arpa-colla" in Greek literally means "Grab and stick", a phrase used to show something that has been done quickly and therefore isn't good enough. This is what the 2 main heroes of the film are doing. The one is a director(Giorgos) and the other an author(Kostas) with communistic ideas, who has won a prize at a festival. They both want to make a movie for the cinema. But every idea they have never comes true, because every time they meet someone to whom they tell their idea, they change their mind, and they want to make a totally different movie, ideas varying from political cinema to Greek historical dramas and modern films with motorcycle gangs. Not a bad attempt for the Greek cinema of the early 80's, which starts to wake up from the hibernation of the 70's.

A dark atmosphere pervades this film in true noir fashion. So does the feeling that our principals are trapped. They fight their way against economic forces and their status in life, and love might conquer all.

Four stories, humorous, romantic or dramatic, are linked by a counterfeit gold sovereign. In the meanwhile, the movie goes on showing how teenagers become male prostitutes. It depicts Athens in a very decadent way. A reporter starts working on an article about this case and gets beaten by a bunch of gay bikers! Teenage boys get laid with wealthy middle-aged men who pay well for these 'services'. One of these boys strangles his wealthy client and he is immediately arrested.

In a mountain village, a conflict develops between peace-loving and war-loving women, culminating in a global women's alert for peace and social justice.
