Noel: The Samba Poet

In the poverty-stricken favelas of Rio de Janeiro in the 1970s, two young men choose different paths. Rocket is a budding photographer who documents the increasing drug-related violence of his neighborhood, while José “Zé” Pequeno is an ambitious drug dealer diving into a dangerous life of crime.

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 1950. In the conservative home of the Gusmão family, Eurídice and Guida are two inseparable sisters who support each other. However, far from being a video version of the show, it is a documentary that covers various themes from the composer's life and work, as well as special appearances by Maria Bethânia, Jamelão, Oscar Niemeyer, Tostão, and the Velha Guarda da Mangueira.

This will be only the sixth show he has performed in the last 36 years. Lasting approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, the setlist is built entirely around the ten songs from the new album. In addition to these, the artist sifted through his vast catalog of over 400 songs—diverse in both genres and themes—to finalize a list of 30 tracks. The project, titled Na Carreira, is a celebration of this great artist’s return to the stage, revisiting classics such as Todo Sentimento, Bastidores, Baioque, O Meu Amor/Teresinha, Anos Dourados, among others.
