The first installment in the Yakuza/Like a Dragon franchise, which has shipped over 30 million copies worldwide, has been adapted into a live action work that remains almost faithful to the original. Produced by the cast and staff of the hugely popular franchise Unification of Japan, which depicts the Japanese underworld, the adaptation is fully supervised by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio. The story follows the events leading up to the video game Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties.

Utopia was a tower of hope, but it was a tower of despair created by human desires. In Utopia, they were researching the only way to save this world: a vaccine against the monster called Golem. But Ayu sacrificed herself by becoming a prostitute once again to earn money for Yoshiyuki's operation and to keep her promise to the old woman who changed her life.

Ayaka Ichijo is a graduate student with an IQ of 200 who tries to investigate the strange deaths happening nationwide after people supposedly watched a cursed video and her younger sister also did the same out of curiosity.

In the afternoon, Himuro (Yasukaze Motomiya) and the others enjoy coffee brewed by Tora (Miyabi Koteyama). While discussing the taste of coffee with Tamura (Yoshiyuki Yamaguchi) and Hasegawa (Daisuke Ohyama), Joji (Takashi Kitadai) starts reminiscing about the time he joined the gang.
