A mysterious and highly successful hitwoman in Hong Kong is paid to assassinate top-level crime bosses. After beginning a relationship with a noodle vendor, she decides to travel to South Korea to complete one last job. Unfortunately, the dead man's bodyguard is out for revenge.

The plot involves patriots during the Sung Dynasty and their attempts to rescue a kidnapped prince from Ching troops who have invaded the north of China. In this film, the action shifts from Bangkok to Hong Kong to Japan and then back to HK as the brothers contend with a Japanese mob led by crime boss Yamaguchi, who is played by the film's director, Chang Cheh, in a rare screen appearance.

Seok-gyu, Jeong-mi's ex-lover, encounters opposition from her parents due to the bankruptcy of her Jeong-mi's house. Man-su threatens Soo-kyung and Seok-gyu, who are trying to find her Jeong-mi. At Seok-gyu's plea to save her fiance, Jeong-mi again joins the plot of Man-su's big crime.

Upon getting out of prison, Deok-Bae meets his old buddy Dal-soo, who owns a restaurant. These two have never succeeded in life, and are constantly in and out of prison. Two others who happen to be in the same boat as Deok-Bae and Dal-Soo are ex-convicts. They have threatened to commit suicide unless traffic and unemployment issues are resolved. They are also unlucky enough to have been spotted at the scene of a crime. While these four are making big plans for their first success, the city becomes wrapped up in a serial murder case. In the meantime, an investigating team of veteran cops is formed in order to solve this case.

The film follows the story of a grumpy elderly man, Soon-cheol, who runs a traditional family restaurant called Dongbaek for three generations. Due to economic difficulties, the restaurant faces closure, and Soon-cheol, along with his son and grandson, struggles to keep it afloat. Things take a dramatic turn when a large food corporation offers to franchise the restaurant, which initially excites the family. However, it’s soon revealed that this offer is linked to the painful history of the Yeosu-Suncheon incident, where Soon-cheol's father was killed by soldiers. The conflict between remembering the past and embracing the future becomes central as Soon-cheol grapples with old wounds.

One snowy day, a strange woman passes out at Duk-dol's doorsteps. Duk-dol takes care of her and lives with her like a family. It turns out that she hid her husband at the mill and has been bringing him food every night. Her husband is Gwak Pa-ram, the daegeum(flute) master. Duk-dol comes to love the woman but she goes off to her husband.
