Jonas tells his wife that he is going to visit head teacher Mikkelsen, an old – and fictitious – friend in Springfield. But of course she learns the truth yet says nothing. Mr Tipp, a landowner, is on his way to the city to have a serious word with his nephew Peter, who lives wildly beyond his means. Arriving in Copenhagen, the pair agree to meet again and then go home to their respective children. The popular artist Frank Harvey has been offered a job in America. On the voyage across the Atlantic, Harvey catches sight of the captain’s beautiful daughter, and the two quickly become good friends. However, a fire breaks out in the ship’s hold, and while the crew struggles to put out the flames, Harvey has to keep the passengers calm with his very best performances, and pray for his and the lives of others. Count de Croisset becomes infatuated with the star dancer Odette Blant. She accepts his offer of marriage, but must promise to abandon the stage forever. She sorely misses performing, however, and when the theatre manager Delage asks her to step in after his star is injured, she agrees. Her husband is at the theatre and recognizes her. Thinking she is having an affair with Delage, he challenges him to a duel. Each duellist must swallow a pill, one of which supposedly contains a deadly poison. This is Delage’s idea, allowing him (with the help of his uncle, the apothecary Michot) to engineer a happy ending for all concerned.

Christmas at an old rectory in the countryside – it's Christmas! And the three student brothers, "Gamle", "Corpus Juris" and Nicolai, are delighted to receive an invitation to spend Christmas with the priest in Nøddebo. The fact that there are also a couple of young daughters in the rectory naturally makes it all even more enjoyable. It's the first time Nicolai has gone along, so he knows nothing about his older brothers' infatuation with the two girls and falls head over heels for them, assuming that they can't handle his charm either. Things don't quite go his way now, because he finds himself pursued everywhere by the anything but pretty Maldrubine, whose warmest interest is the pleasures of the table.

The king's presence, his courtier Poul Flemming, who loves Elisabeth Munk, is to be the king's deputy at the wedding. However, the king hears rumors that the sheriff Albert Ebbesen has often been seen at Elverhøj with an elf girl, and when Ebbesen now arrives, he must explain away his secret meetings with the elf girl to the king.

Mr Bing, a merchant and confirmed bachelor, receives a letter stating that his uncle will disinherit him if he does not marry his cousin, Ingeborg Nielsen. Bing in no way intends to comply with that demand, imagining this cousin to be some tawdry peasant girl. By chance, he meets a young, beautiful woman with whom he becomes deeply smitten and whose heart he sets his sights on winning. It all happens over two days and—naturally—and in particular—two nights. A perfectly ordinary girl gets herself into a lot of trouble because of her slightly too big heart, which exposes her to trials and temptations she cannot overcome without the help of little white lies and pretence. She manages to overcome almost all obstacles, but loses her heart.

Gross misunderstandings result in the young actor Jean leaving his wife and child. Years later, the family meets again in the theatre. Jean enters the stage as Pjerrot, whilst his wife and their daughter sit in the audience. The daughter slips behind the stage unnoticed, where suddenly a fire breaks out. Jean, dressed as a clown, must plunge into the flames in a heroic attempt to save both his marriage and the life of his estranged daughter. (Stumfilm.dk)

The circus clown Joe Higgins is scouted by a world famous artist agent, who promises him fame and fortune. Joe takes the offer on one condition: His fiancèe Daisy and her parents are coming with him. Soon, Joe finds himself performing on the biggest stages in the city, enthralling his audience night after night. But the glamorous life in the big city is no fairy tale after all.

The Lord returns home to his estate after a stay abroad. The strongman and exuberant person he was has been peeled out of him. He has good manners but is devoid of manliness and human courage.

Attorney Krogh and his wife, Gerda, are distraught about their only son, Kai, a wastrel and ne’er-do-well with no aim or direction in life. Kai again asks his mother for money and Gerda cannot refuse, even selling her jewellery when her son falls deep into debt. Can Kai be steered away from the abyss that awaits him? (stumfilm.dk)

The student Jonas "Luntis" Lundström accepts a position as an informant with trustee Borg at the Högvalla estate. He will teach Borg's son Börje. On his way to the estate, he runs into Harald Mannberg, who is on his way to a maid, Signe Borg. Mannberg tries to buy his way into the estate by assuming the role of informant. Lost.

When head clerk Wange sets out to propose to the love of his life, Julie, he is rejected on the grounds that he is too staid and earthbound for her. A particularly pretentious and conceited poet is much more to her liking. Wange must find a way to prove to Julie that he is truly adventurous and romantic. Perhaps Julie’s penchant for superstition could be the way to win her heart? (stumfilm.dk)

Governor Krakow has promised his daughter, Sonja, in marriage to the wealthy prince and general Sabinsky. However, Sonja is secretly engaged to the young Lieutenant Petrowitsch. When the general discovers that the lieutenant is courting his intended bride, he sends him to a remote military posting. The love triangle takes a dramatic turn when the lieutenant first falls captive to the Tartars and later joins their army, which is fighting against Sabinsky. (Stumfilm.dk)

The two young officers Edmond and Clayton both fall in love with Rose – the daughter of the Minister of War. When Rose falls victim to a serious accident, Clayton risks his life to save her whereas Edmond cowardly shrinks from helping. Of the films that Psilander made at Nordisk during the first two years it is the film Dødsspring til Hest fra Cirkuskuplen (The Great Circus Catastrophe), that is worth noting. Maybe not so much for Psilander's acting, but for the sensational, action-packed storylines that he was in. This film shows the other side of Psilander's fame: his daring. He was an excellent rider and looked fantastic in long riding boots and elegant riding jackets and this skill was exploited in his films.

Four good friends are so engrossed with their card game that they are late to pick up their wives at the theatre. So why not continue where they left off?
