Before director Lo Wei helped to discover Bruce Lee and the king of kung-fu comedy Jackie Chan, in Madam Slender Plum, Lo perpetuates the career of yet another Shaw's non-action, femme fatale starlet; the sleek and sexy, puppy-eyed Eurasian Jenny Hu. It's a melodrama with a touch of murder-mystery in the vein of an old Alfred Hitchcock movie where Diana Chang plays the mother with Jenny playing her oldest daughter.

A noble swordsman, whose arm had been chopped off, returns to his former teacher to defend him from a villainous gang of rival swordsmen.

Perhaps the most notorious concubine in Chinese history, Yang Guifei set a pudgy standard of beauty in her days of glory during the Tang dynasty. The Emperor Minghuang was so besotted with the woman that when An Lushan stages his rebellion against the empire, the ruler takes Yang Guifei along with his imperial entourage in an escape to the mountainous area of modern-day Sichuan, and sanctuary of sorts. This is the story told in this interesting Taiwanese adaptation by director Li Han-hsiang (Li Hanxiang).

Sensual Pleasures features a collection of three, ghost story, sexual vignettes starring a viscerally sensual trio of hardcore experience with the well endowed Chen Ping, Chinese adult film legend Shirley Yu and the innocent doe-eyed Shaw Yin-yin.

This partially-extant silent film focuses on the lives of people in rural China during the early twentieth century. Wang Guisheng (played by Wang Yuanlong) is an orphan who grew up at his uncle's, working as a farmhand. Since childhood, he has been close with his female cousin, Li Ah Zhen (played by Li Minghui), and they expect to marry. But when her mother dies of illness and overwork, Ah Zhen's father re-marries, and the evil stepmother connives to marry Ah Zhen off to the stepmother's nephew. Then a government representative comes to the village recruiting peasants to establish a new settlement on the borderlands, she persuades the despondent Guisheng to sign up. Guisheng leaves his love behind, only to find hardship on the frontier. Ah Zhen, who has fallen ill, is set upon by her groom on her wedding night...BUT the next morning his stabbed corpse is found in the bridal chamber and a body in a bridal gown is found down a well. WHAT HAS HAPPENED?!?!?!?!!

Smash Up (1952 film) (Chinese 蛇蝎美人) also known by the aliases: The Vicious Beauty and Destroy; is a Hong Kong drama film directed by Bu Wan-Cang and produced by Shaw Brothers Studio. It starred Bai Guang, Wong Ho and Yiu Kwang-Chao.

Three women fled to Shanghai due to the war and rented a room in the back of a building. They met four homeless men, who, coincidentally, lived next door, and the seven became friends. When the landlord cut off the electricity to a tenant who couldn't pay their rent, the seven intervened and learned that the man of the house was serving in the army, leaving only the invulnerables in the family. To help them, the seven performed an open-air play in the city center square to raise funds.

Meal Time is a comedy film about all the mess with housework that director Yan and his wife had to go through after the maid gave up her job.

While outside in a hotel garden at night, Miss Tang runs into a vampire. Mr. Li tries to find out if it's real or not. It may have something to do with the hotel grounds being a former gold mine. After its theatrical release, this has yet to be released again in any format anywhere. It's believed to be the first film ever to contain the jiangshi, or hopping vampire.

A Songstress Called Hong Lingyan (歌女紅菱艷) aka Tears of Songstress is a 1953 Hong Kong musical drama film directed by Tu Kuang-Chi. The film was a co-production by Shaws Film Company and Far East Motion Picture Company, and is based on the screenplay by Pan Liu-Dai.
