Love and friendship, lies and betrayal - comedies often deal with existential themes. But not always. Sometimes everyday life is enough to pick up an audience and entertain them. The audience suddenly sees themselves as experts who can give an informed opinion on what is happening on stage: In the case of "Pantoffelheld" from 1983, it was probably primarily housewives, ironing men were rather the exception back then. Among them was the newly minted househusband Daniel, who struggles with an ironing board and creased jeans. Paul Bühlmann as his buddy Georges does a much more confident job.

Alex wakes up on the morning of his wedding with an incredible hangover and a beautiful stranger next to him. The girl tells him that they met in the bar the night before, went upstairs and spent a wonderful night together. Does he not remember? Alex almost loses his mind, Vicky, his bride, is about to arrive and he is standing there - unfaithful and hungover - what a disaster. If you don't take the truth too seriously, you seem to find many things easier. Be it in your professional or private life. Rudolf Langenegger is a politician and husband and a prime example of both genres. The inventive National Councillor on the wrong track is only surpassed by his wife Sylvia. And so it happens that she meets up with her "one afternoon stand" at the same time in the same hotel as her husband with his mistress. SVP National Councillor Arthur Aebi has checked into the Parkhotel for a fling with SP secretary Anita Fröhlich. But when they go to admire the view, a dead body is found on the balcony. As nobody is allowed to know about the meeting between Aebi and Fröhlich, the body has to disappear. After a landslide in the Axenstrasse, geologist Mara Graf and her boyfriend, seismologist Gian Wyss, are investigating for the Seismological Service of the University of Technology in Switzerland. For Gian this is a good opportunity to spend some weeks of Spring at home. For Mara to be with her grandmother and sister. While the actual violence and conflict may have ended, the legacy of the Troubles still lingers on in Northern Ireland; many are still struggling to come to terms with what happened and find a way to move forward.

This is a British movie set in Brighton. It shows teenage angst and female gang behaviour. They roam the streets of Brighton stalking single men, seducing and then robbing them. Hayley meets a policeman, Daniel (Nick Moran), and becomes fixated on him. She dreams of becoming his girlfriend/lover. Daniel has a shoe fetish and lets himself be seduced by Hayley. The end result is not what he envisages.
