It is a youth film about the boys in their late teens spend before they become adults. Sho and Tiaga, who grew up in the same neighborhood since they were little, are in their last year of high school. They are also the duo who beat the drums at town festivals. However, Taiga announces that he will not play drums this year to prepare to go to college. Sho, who has no plan of his future, cannot think straight. High school seniors Mikayo, Chuko and Kei are forced to join a historical research club to fulfill a graduation requirement. It examines the intense work of the life of four masters in sake brewing called "The Four Sake Kings of Noto," including a 80-year-old returning veteran Toji (a sake craftsperson), as well as their disciples, such as the first female Toji to join the Noto Toji Union, and a young Toji with a new working style. The story reveals the depths of sake making today and the difficulties of passing down the artistry through generations.

A college girl, Asayo, falls for the star of her school’s football team, Igarashi. Her main rival in winning him is Deborah, a flamboyant drag-performing football player (okama) who shares her dorm. Despite their rivalry, Asayo and Deborah become friends, and he helps her pursue Igarashi. Complications arise when Asayo realizes Deborah secretly loves Igarashi. His feelings are eventually revealed, but Igarashi does not reciprocate. In the end, Asayo, Igarashi, and Deborah navigate romance, rivalry, and dorm life together, with friendships and loyalties intact.
