Inside the village of Poe a mysterious noble family takes residence with their son Edgar and ill daughter Marybell. Edgar is quickly intrigued by Allan, the heir of a transportation company, who catches his eye by almost running him over with a horse. "I shall give eternal life only to beautiful things...." While visiting London in 1887, Count Dracula of Romania exchanges promises with the daughter of a multi-millionaire. The romance of vampire legends has traveled about for hundreds of years, and in 1987 Star Troupe performed this production with Shion Yuu in the pivotal role. This very popular show was a unique theme for Takarazuka-- the first act is on classical and aesthetic beauty, and the second act is a more modern pop style of Count Dracula's love.

One of the teachers at the school, Laurence, has just self-published a collection of poems. He is organizing a program to help turn around problem children and get them clean from drugs. When he attempts to protest the casino project, one of the city councilman, Heywood, gets him sacked. He and Heywood are childhood friends, but they also competed over the same woman.

A member of the U.S. House of Representatives, leading a delegation of stage artists, comes to Moscow and a female russian government official welcomes his entourage. The congressman is hoping, through the results of the visit, to make a name for himself in order to move up to the Senate. Meanwhile, the female government official - whose nickname is "Iron Lady" - keeps a watchful eye on the him in suspicion of espionage. As a result, the two get along like cats and dogs.

The story is set at a company’s summer karaoke competition, held inside a multi-tenant office building. Various “salaryman contestants,” each carrying their own personal struggles, compete in vocal skill, while behind the scenes the event staff face a string of troubles yet push forward with a show-must-go-on spirit.

This "drama in verse" is based on the ancient Japanese myth of Susano-o and the many-headed serpent Yamata-no-Orochi.

The Love of the Last Tycoon is inspired by the life of film producer Irving Thalberg, on whom protagonist Monroe Stahr is based. The story follows Stahr's rise to power in Hollywood, and his conflicts with rival Pat Brady, a character based on studio head Louis B. Mayer.
