Lena, Alexis and Manolis are ready to run with the money of a bogus company they had founded, when Lena discloses the secret to her childhood friend Dimitris. Alexis and Manolis decide to take him along, in their small private plane. They will land in a deserted spot and try to kill him, while Lena escapes with the plane, which she throws to a swamp along with the money it carries. The people from a lighthouse nearby apprise of the situation and try to get the plane out of the swamp, hoping the money will change their fortune.

This film is a social comment of the times, exploring issues that centre around relationships and what was allowed and what was not allowed at the time (early 60s) in Greece. There are sub-plots also, mainly relating to the life of the poor city dwellers, social injustice and seeming double standards. Aliki Vougiouklaki is a poor young girl dreaming of a better life and the "handsome prince on a white stallion" who will deliver her from her miserable existence. She meets and falls in love with a young man (Nikos Kourkoulos) who also falls in love with her, but things are not as simple as they first seem. His past comes to haunt them with tragic consequences. Vassilis Diamantopoulos is excellent as the half-crazed old captain whose life strangely echoes that of young Aliki.

This films tells four different stories, all connected by the banks of a river.

During the German occupation, the Nazis plan to execute 30 men in retaliation for the death of a German soldier at the hands of the partisans. Among the men are three brothers (Giorgos Fountas, Anestis Vlachos and Giannis Fertis). The villagers ask the German officer (Zoras Tsapelis) to spare the life of one of the brothers. He accepts on the condition that their father (Lavrentis Dianellos) selects the one to remain alive.

October 28, 1940. Along with the Italian army's attack on the Greek-Albanian border, Greece comes under fire from the Italian air force. The submarine Papanikolis, commanded by Captain Milto Iatridis and First Officer Vasilis Aslanoglou, is ordered to patrol the Gulf of Patras. Following the army's victories, the war council decides that it is time for the navy to enter the war and orders the submarine Papanikolis to patrol the Strait of Otranto. There, the crew captures the crew of an Italian ship and their engineer reveals the minefields of the Adriatic. Thus, the Papanikolis begins its mission. After completing its mission, it returns to its base, where it is honored.

Dimitris does not seek any revenge and his interest in Myrto is sincere and guileless. The feeling is mutual, while the passions and hatreds of the past fade away under the blue sky and the hot sun...

This is the film Crete in Flames, with some changes made to exploit a true story – it is about the kidnapping of Tasoula Vardinoyannis by Yannis Kefalogiannis –, a story that had shocked and fascinated the entire Greek nation, and had received widespread publicity. The Battle of Crete and the legendary resistance of the brave Cretan people against the German occupiers who invaded the island en masse by air in 1942.

The plain of Thessaly, 1910. The tenant farmers suffer untold hardships, both from the Arvanites invaders who ravage and seize their possessions and from the chief landlord of the area Stratos Karatzas, who claims the lion’s share of their harvest. This and The Hot Month of August, both made in Greece, were acquired by DORIS WISHMAN for release in the United States. However, she somehow or other lost the dialogue sheets needed for dubbing the films into English. With the original dialogue a mystery, and not understanding Greek in the first place, the Grand Dame of Sexploitation simply re-invented the entire plot blissfully dubbing it away without any clue as to what was really being said, and then adding some steamy sex scenes with her own anonymous adulterers to liven things up.
