A current of thought unites the three episodes in a coherent way, embodied with few elements, and that makes of space, time, and movement, purely cinematographic modes of expression. Voice is not needed. Yes there are sounds, music, but not human voices, as in primitive cinema. There are faces, slow or fast movements, despair, fatality, a barely glimpsed horror, desire and fear of freedom. There is also love, perhaps as an illusion, rather than as a reality.

Surrounded by social and political chaos in Lima during the summer of 1992, Lucia, Aurora, and their mother, Elena, plan to leave and seek opportunities in the United States. Their farewell involves reconnecting with their estranged father, Carlos, adding turbulence to the regrets, hopes, and fears of their emotional departure.

“Huarango” explores the story of a successful NYC Chef, who is brought back to his home town to attend his mother’s funeral in Nazca, Peru. The film takes place in his first 48 hours in Peru after being gone for 20 years. He arrives at his childhood home a day before everyone is supposed to arrive for the funeral, expecting to be alone and use that time to settle in - but he is met with the surprise that Vanessa, his sister, is there as well. They were both not expecting to see each other that day, and are now forced to talk about their relationship, and Gonzalo is forced to confront his decisions and the effect it had on his family.

When Adriana, the mother, becomes convinced that a perfect family consists of only two children, the arrival of a new baby, Tomas, turns their world upside down. Ignoring Tomas entirely, the family is plunged into a surreal struggle where every member must fight for their place.

A group of acting students moves into the home of one of its members, Julieta, to rehearse their final workshop play. Once there, all the group members systematically experience strange feelings of fear and anxiety due to a shared vision: that of a woman committing suicide in the kitchen. Little by little, the mystery unfolds, but none of them are the same after that stay.
