“When I do my suicide for you, I hope you’ll miss me too,” Herman Brood sang in “Rock ‘n’ Roll Junkie” – just one of many announcements of his own death Brood worked into his songs. It’s a subject Brood, who jumped off the roof of the Amsterdam Hilton 15 years ago, often sang about. In Unknown Brood, a whole range of people look back on the rock and roller’s turbulent life, including fellow musicians, his manager, a former girlfriend, photographer Anton Corbijn, Brood’s wife and their daughter. Video footage shot by Brood himself and never seen before is intercut with a rich collection of archive material, including a humorous clip of Brood barking the Dutch national anthem. His sister Beppie Brood stresses her brother’s split personality: on the one hand the shy, vulnerable man wary of other people, and on the other the one who played Herman Brood – an extravagant, hedonistic junkie and rock and roll star.

Doe Maar was a Dutch ska band with punk and reggae influences. Their career ran from 1978 to 1984 and they were one of the most successful pop bands in Dutch history. Doe Maar translates as Go Ahead or Just do it, a phrase mostly used in a deprecatory, sulky manner. Doe Maar De Popmusical, is a Dutch musical produced by V&V Entertainment. It premièred on 28-01-2007 in Tilburg. The show on 11-18-2007 (Theater Castellum) was recorded and aired on 01-01-2008.

Rex and Saskia, a young couple in love, are on vacation when they stop at a busy service station. Saskia is abducted in broad daylight and three years pass with no answers or closure surrounding her disappearance. One of the reasons she is accepted is that mother of the family is absolutely overburdened by the household, so she stays despite the resistance of the father, normally - an indisputable authority in the family. She develops a special bond with the youngest of the boys, four-year old Simcha, so far incapable of speaking.

During World War II, two members of the Dutch resistance share the same goal but use very different methods to reach it.

Waldemar Nods, a young man from Suriname, meets the older Dutch woman Rika van der Lans and they fall in love. In pre-WWII Netherlands they could not be more different. The one black, the other white, 17 years between them and on top of that Rika already has four children with another man. They love each other, but then Rika appears to be pregnant.

Thus, she knows nothing of the problems of her children and grandchildren; nor her son's business problems; nor even the health problems of her daughter. Only granddaughter Sabine doesn't want to come to terms with the unworldly attitude of her grandmother. So she tells her about her love for the architectural student Wolf, who has to earn his money as a bricklayer. The old woman is horrifeid and doesn't want to hear anymore! But Sabine won't shut her mouth.

Seven women take off on a cargo boat for a cruise, after graduating from an exclusive boarding school in Switzerland. They party with the ship's crew, but in port they meet up with Manuel, who runs a meteorological station with his father on a remote Amazon island. While out there, Manuel's father has found a crashed airplane carrying gold ingots. Manuel goes to the mainland to tell of his father's finding and is overheard by a gangster. The gangsters head over to the island and shoot Manuel's father, but Manuel escapes. Murdok captures some of the girls, who must fight off some of the gang members' evil intentions. Eventually the rest of the girls and Manuel arrive to the rescue, but Murdok gets away only in time to be shot by the police.
