David Bowie: Serious Moonlight

The final creative chapter of one of music’s most iconic artists. Featuring rare interviews with those who knew and worked alongside Bowie as well as famous fans and figures who have been inspired by his artistry, the film will uncover the strategy behind Bowie’s artistic resurrection and the inexhaustible extraordinary creativity that defined his final decade, in which he released his critically acclaimed album Blackstar just two days before he died. This was an emergence from the turbulence of the 1990s, when Bowie had found himself at odds with a changing industry but pushed on to headline Glastonbury in 2000.

It was released three years after its recording in unedited form, including spoken introductions by both Edwards and Rodgers.

While this film may look rough and raw to 21st Century eyes, it is also the best representation of Iggy live during an otherwise pitifully undocumented era of his career. Fronting a crack band featuring Blondie drummer Clem Burke and future David Bowie guitarist Carlos Alomar, Pop is as unpredictable and dominant as ever (no small feat since he is sporting a mini skirt, garters and stockings for most of the show). The Power Station Video EP is a video by The Power Station, released by EMI-PMI in 1986. The EP contains promotional videos of the first three singles by The Power Station, which were all released in 1985. These singles are "Some Like It Hot", "Get It On (Bang a Gong)" and "Communication". Model Caroline Cossey is featured in "Some Like It Hot". "Communication" contains an array of footage showing communication in the world, with clips of the band performing the song in the studio. The EP was re-released as a DVD, which was part of The Power Station (2 Disc Set) in 2005.

Ricochet provides a behind-the-scenes portrait of David Bowie during his 1983 Serious Moonlight Tour. Filmed on location in Singapore, Bangkok and Hong Kong, this film includes live performances of “Fame,” “Look Back in Anger,” “Heroes” and “Ricochet.” Ricochet was previously released to home video in 1984 in a shorter version, separately from the Serious Moonlight video. It was later reissued as an extra with the 2006 DVD reissue of Serious Moonlight.
