Beyond the Fire

Famed actress Susan Taslimi plays three roles here: Kian, who doubts her identity; Vida, the twin sister, a self-assured artist; and their mother, who gives up one child out of fear of poverty, then deprives the other of affection due to deep regrets regarding the child whom she has abandoned.

Three different stories of three women. In the first Mehrnaz is a widow who is living with her daughter alone. In the second Shahla takes care of her disabled husband and in the third Farzaneh is a young girl who has problems with her fiance.

A young guy Siamak has a list of 25 youngsters in his pocket. He has to deliver drugs to them but his father Reza is coming from abroad after many years. He was a runaway but now wants to be a good father for his son.

Yavar (Reza Beyk Imanvardi), a truck driver, saves Maryam (Arzoo Ghaffari) who has fallen into a well, and meets her brother, Karim (Hossein Gil). Yavar and his student Ali (Mehdi Fakhimzadeh) take Karim to their hometown of Shiraz. Karim accidentally kills a passerby, and Yavar introduces himself to the police instead of Karim. While Yavar is in prison, Karim insults Yavar's sister, Nosrat (Aram), and at the same moment, Qoli Palang (Ahmad Moeini) rapes his own sister. Karim flees to Tehran and, after learning what happened to Maryam, decides to kill her; but his mother stops him. In Tehran, Nosrat meets a singer (Nadia) and takes refuge in her house. Some time later, Yavar is released and looks for Karim. Karim escapes from him and Ali and gets into a fight with a leopard in a ruin outside the city. Eventually, both are injured, and Karim expresses remorse in Yavar's arms before dying. Ali asks Yavar for permission to marry Nusrat.

The story of this film deals with the emotional and marital relationship of contemporary man, who has a special look at social problems these days. The film's synopsis states that filmmaker Mahan Koushiar decides to make a documentary about a serial murder, but his life is affected.

Two brothers Salman and Saleh have a feud with each other. For ending this enmity their children Esmaeil and Rabe'eh are getting married with each other. During the 1979 revolution, a group of Muslim militants try to evacuate their arsenal in the north of Iran distributing them between the people. There is a woman in the group whose husband is in prison and snitches the arsenal's location. Her brother flees from prison and joins the group too. Security officers are informed and send two of their forces as the escapees into the group in order to pursue the group members and arrest them all. The two officers succeed to perish all the members of the group except the woman's brother.

During the war a field hospital is bombard. A group of red crescent helpers bring an injured soldier to take him to the behind lines. But it is not easy at all and in the way they face many difficulties.

Tehran, 1948. A young Jewish couple, Danial and his wife Munes, decide to immigrate to the recently founded state of Israel.
