In 1991, the USSR is falling apart and Cuba enters its hardest economic crisis. Sergio, a professor of Marxism who can't provide for his family, and Sergei, a Soviet cosmonaut stranded in the Mir space station, share a common passion: amateur radio. Through this hobby, both men will be able to help each other in facing the dramatic changes of their countries.

It's the late 1980s in Cuba, and in an isolated ranch in a small town near Santa Clara, lives Vilma, a young nurse who dreams of a better place to raise her upcoming baby, along with her disabled husband Ivan. Fleeing responsibilities, they stage a romantic rendezvous alongside a country river, but once again they are interrupted as Cuban commissars arrive with papers and forms because the couple constructs a hut beneath a bridge. The film powerfully expresses her profound perspective on uprootedness, nostalgia, and loss.

Ana is a telenovela actress but because of financial troubles resorts to producing a prostitution documentary under false pretences.

Alina, Luisa and América are three women who after fighting to restore and stabilize democracy to their country realize they’ve been betrayed by the leader of the revolution. The three women begin to confront and challenge the new system in their own ways and for different reasons they find themselves jailed.

Located in deep Spain at the beginning of the 20th century, the work reveals a traditional society where violence and oppression against women is exercised even by women themselves in a mimetic replica of the model imposed by patriarchal society.
