An American bomber is shot down on the Norwegian coast during World War II. The airmen bail out and land at different locations. In spite of the German search for them, the Norwegian resistance picks them up and hides them in the attic of the local church, a center of operations. Things become tense, however, when the hideout is spotted by a notorious collaborator, and soon the protagonist, Hans, has to get the airmen to Sweden.

100 miles north, a bit east and up, is Pinchcliffe, the home of bicycle repairman Reodor Felgen and his two assistants, Solan Gundersen and Ludvig. This is a light comedy from Edith Carlmar, Norways first woman director. It takes place in a company that sells baby toys. It is time to fill a leading position, and it is known the owner of the company only places married men on leading positions. This leads a young bachelor to "borrow" his best friends wife to have a chance at the position. This leads to a lot of comic misunderstandings, not the least because the owner of the company himself falls for the new young wife.

She tells others about her experiences, but no one believes her. She therefore decides to travel up to the mountain farm and stay in her family's old cabin. Perhaps she will see the black horse again there. She takes her best friend with her to the mountains in search of the so-called "Wild Horse." However, the wild animal is not the only danger posed by the mighty Sunnmøre Alps. Dangers lurk everywhere in the wild landscape, and hunters are also hunting in the same area. They shoot almost anything they come across.

All this affects Gerner in a negative way, who is plagued by jealousy regarding people from Lucie's past. The relationship between the married couple keeps getting worse.

Not until four years after The Fox's Widow was the third fairytale movie, The Seventh Master of the House, released – Caprino's personal favourite. This is a wonderful fairytale and a sharp satire on everyday bureaucracy. Caprino knew all about that – in fact, you might say that the movie was an indirect stab at the bureaucrats who had considered all his funding applications.
