When his colleague Bantic is appointed as head of the clinic, Babic starts a secret war to overthrow his rival. A crooked coroner and a corrupt police officer cover up his misdeeds, while Babic grows increasingly dependant on drugs and alcohol. Things seem to be going fairly well until one of the tenants, Milan, a war veteran and an agent for the Yugoslav Secret Service, commits suicide, seemingly not of his own accord. Fearing what this could mean for the security of the state, the Secret Service sends in another agent, Ivan, to move into the housing block undercover, alongside his pregnant wife Milica, and report on any suspicious activity he comes across. Upon their arrival, the unexplained deaths and suicides begin piling up more and more, and one of the tenants, a sickly 12-year-old named Ana, starts exhibiting strange symptoms and seemingly supernatural abbilites.

The bus is owned by Krstic senior, and driven by his impressionable and dim-witted son Misko.

The main protagonist is a young fellow who tries to live his life within 30 frames. He's a person suitable for any atmosphere, which makes him different from the rest. He's like a plant that differs from others, an informer who wants to escape out from his skin. This man loves, hates, eats, drinks, lies ill, laughs, cries, kisses, plays... These are agonies of a contemporary man.
