In this film that wavers unsteadily between a comedy and a tragedy, Murtaza (Mujdat Gezen) is a deluded security guard whose fanatical reverence for "duty" verges on the psychotic. He is incapable of seeing himself for what he is -- and as a consequence he is often the unwitting and unknowing brunt of jokes. His wife and daughters are painfully aware of his shortcomings, but they generally suffer in silence. One of the daughters ends up working in the factory to help the family out financially, and when Murtaza finds her sleeping on the job one night he hits her so hard she eventually dies from the blow. Though that is not the end of it, by any means.

"Yolcular" is a 1979 feature film directed and written by Yavuz Pağda, starring Halil Ergün and Meral Orhonsay.

Hasan, who lives with his family in Urfa, takes over his father's business. He then goes to Istanbul for work. There, he falls in love with a woman he meets. They spend time together. Several times, he calls furrier Nubar who is to receive the goods, yet he cannot reach him. This worries Hasan and Yakup who want to deliver the goods without being caught. Unable to contact Nubar, Hasan goes to the shop of the other partner, Leon. He learns that Nubar has been arrested after a tip off was made. Leon is also afraid and tells Hasan to take the goods back. Wanting to get the job done, Hasan will make the deal he wants with Leon. (Meltem İşler Sevindi)
