A Trap for the Ghost

While the Second Nagorno-Karabakh war rages on far away from Baku, Azerbaijan, Banu has four days to find someone to support her in court against her influential soon to be ex-husband, Javid. He is trying to get full custody of their son Ruslan by claiming that Banu suffers from psychiatric issues. Banu embarks on a journey to find someone to help her in a society in which everyone’s attention is preoccupied with the ongoing war.

Residents of a big city, each of whom has their own sexual problems and desires, secret and, most often, shameful from the point of view of society, need to solve them. Each of the characters tries to solve their problems in their own way: someone sublimates them, someone turns to a psychotherapist for help, someone rushes into experiments... but sooner or later they all return to where they started, and they have to overcome themselves again and again to get at least a little, even a millimeter closer to their happiness.

Paula Barretto (Juliet Berto) is caught in the underworld because her father was involved in the drug business, her brother is in the real estate scam, and her lover is an armed thief. Although she tries to get out of her corrupt and dangerous environment, it is not an easy task when even the police officers cannot be trusted, and the underworld has informants everywhere.

Suspecting Ivan of misinformation and working for the Germans, the military sends him under arrest. Colonel Alyoshin tries to save his friend: thanks to his perseverance, the command sends another group to Anino — Ivan becomes the guide, and Odintsovo leads the detachment.

As the mass deportations of the Chechen and Ingush peoples begin in 1944, young Daud and Seda escape to the mountains. When they get back to their native village, however, they witness a horrifying war crime.

Under Tanechka's influence, Ivan Semenov went from being a cheerful hooligan to being "mother's friend's son", or, to put it simply, "a suffocating one", from whom his friends and Tanechka herself turned their backs.
